ABOUT ME

Hello visitor!
I am Elizabeth and a 18 year old german girl, nice to meet you ♥
I live in Hesse near Frankfurt but I was born in Bavaria. I am luckily engaged to my wonderful fiancé Alexander since 12.August 2016 and a proud catmom of three cats.
I am a huge music and opera lover, I love painting, photography, sewing, cooking, reading, traveling, building armor and props with my fiancé and going to conventions with him.
I also love going to diner and meet friends!
Together with my fiancé I also play a lot of video-games and really love to watch movies.
Sewing became my passion so in 2017 I'll start my education as a tailor.

What got you into Cosplay?

I started with cosplaying in 2014. Before this time I made friends in my new school and all of them where addicted to japanese culture and japanese stuff like me. They had an school club about japanese culture and I'd joined it. There we watched animes together, talked about our favorite YouTubers and in the end they told me about their hobby, cosplay. I read about cosplay in 2012 for the first time and now I finally found people who wanted to share their hobby with me. It was amazing.

I joined my very first convention, the Frankfurter Bookfair with them in 2013. It was one of the best moments in my life. I saw all that people in their cosplays, I saw characters from my favorite games, series and animes. They told me that they sewed their costumes and crafted their armors and weapons by themselves and I was so impressed that I wanted to be a part of this big creative open world.

So my grandparents bought me a sewing machine on christmas 2013. There I began to sew my very first costume together with a friend. I had no idea of how to sew clothes! But I learned fast and it was so much fun ♥

Cosplay (jap. ã‚³ã‚¹ãƒ—レ) = a wonderful chance to live your dreams, get creative and self-confident and have fun with your friends and be part of a big family!

Well, when I started with my very first cosplay I was scared. Very scared. I didn't know anything about fabric, sewing stuff, sewing techniques or things like that, nothing about lace, patterns, ruffles and yarn. This whole new cosplay thing was a new chapter for me. I watched my friends sewing their costumes and it looked so easy when they did it. But when I tried out a piece of fabric on my sewing machine it was like: "Oh my god, how difficult and groggy!" and I decided to ask a friend of my mum, who was a tailor how everything works. In the end he teached me the basics but I got a lot of my knowledge by trial and error. And this is an very important point for those of you who want to join the cosplay community: nothing will work without trial and error, it'll never be work without. Even the most experienced cosplayers have trouble sometimes with their costumes. Nobody expects from you that your first cosplay is a huge ballgown or something like that. Look at my first cosplay! I had so much fun with it at my first convention as a cosplayer and I was so proud because I sewed it by myself and I'd never expected from me that I can do such things. And it looked like a dress - more or less ;')  What I want to say is: Don't be afraid to fail. It's not a shame and you can ask other cosplayers for help. I teached myself sewing by trial and error and I've learned a lot about sewing and sewing techniques by reading books, watching tutorials and asked other cosplayers.
Why I created this blog is that I really enjoy to share my cosplay work. I know how it is when you don't have any idea how to make a cosplay and when you have nobody to ask for help. I want to fill this blog with cosplay tutorials, make-up tutorials, convention videos or vlogs, DIYs but what's the most important, I want to help YOU feeding your knowledge and having fun while creating your costume.

Let's enjoy creating costumes together!
